2002 – present
Chris’s understanding of the pressures of elite sports started young with his own career in the pool seeing him winning at regional and national levels and settings records that he held for years after stepping away from swimming at such a high level.
“I still get up to swim in my squad at 4am four to five times a week. I think the drive never really leaves you.”
Chris started his development as a practitioner in 1987 when he completed his Bachelors, majoring in Psychology at Sydney University. “Although I knew I didn’t want to work in Psychology my interest in health was ignited. I feel I gained a unique understanding of the psychological impact of chronic pain and the need for tools to address this.”
Further education in 1995 and a qualification in sports massage which brought him back to elite sports and a coaching role. In 2003 Chris discovered the impact of electrotherapy for pain relief and travelled to Russia to embark on training in this field.
“I saw remarkable reduction in pain and improvement in function among my patients using a personal level device and knew then that I wanted to understand what this remarkable technology was capable of.”
Chris is now regarded as one of the world’s most experienced practitioners, educators and presenters in the field of non-invasive interactive neurostimulation therapy, with over 17 years clinical experience as a specialist pain relief therapist using this technology.
“I really feel that I have been so fortunate to learn from the diverse range of practitioners that have attended my training. From GP’s to specialist physiotherapists there has been such a range who have come to learn more about the therapy and integrate this unique technology into their practice.”
Chris is sought by patients in Australia and abroad as well as elite and World Champion athletes to treat painful conditions and injuries as well as help facilitate winning performances. As head therapist and co-founder Scenar Health, now NS Health Australia, Chris pioneered the non-invasive interactive neurostimulation therapy clinic concept, and has operated a successful specialist pain relief clinic in Sydney, Australia since 2004 using neurostimulation as a stand-alone therapy.
His passion for treating and educating people about this technology has earned him a worldwide reputation as a dynamic, engaging and entertaining speaker who ‘lives and walks the talk’.
